A Little Cinderella Halloween Folk Lore!
Once upon a time, in a village nestled amidst ancient, whispering oaks and shadowy graveyards, there lived a young girl named Ella. Halloween was a particularly enchanting time in Ella's town, where the veil between the living and the spirit world was said to be thin, and mysterious happenings were a common occurrence.
On the night of Halloween, as the village prepared for the grand masquerade ball at the royal castle, the air was thick with the scent of burning sage, and the flickering glow of jack-o'-lanterns lined the cobblestone streets. The villagers believed that on this particular night, the spirits of their ancestors would return to join in the festivities.
As the moon rose high in the night sky, casting eerie shadows upon the ground, a kind and gentle fairy named Luna granted Ella a Carriage to travel to the masquerade ball
Ella's glorious black carriage, made entirely of carved pumpkins and adorned with black flowers, appeared before Ella in a flicker of light with horse skeletons with bones that shone as bright as the full moon, ready to take Ella to the ball.
Astonished by the magical sight before her, stepped into the carriage. As she did, her tattered clothes transformed into a gown as dazzling as the stars above.
Unbeknownst to Ella, the spirits of Halloween, ancient guardians of the night, had blessed her carriage with the ability to transcend the boundaries between the living and the dead.
Ella's heart pounded with fear and excitement, realising she was part of a world where the living and the supernatural coexisted harmoniously on Halloween night.
Guided by these friendly spirits, Ella's carriage glided through the misty night, passing by spectral figures dancing in abandoned graveyards and haunted woods.
When she arrived at the royal ball, the prince, too, seemed to sense the otherworldly aura surrounding her. The evening was filled with dancing, laughter, music, and the sweet aroma of soul cakes, a traditional Halloween treat left out to appease wandering spirits.
As midnight approached, the spirits whispered warnings to Ella, reminding her of the impending magic's end. Reluctantly, she bid farewell to the prince and hurried back to her magical carriage, her departure leaving him with a sense of mystery and longing.
Just as the last stroke of midnight echoed through the castle, the carriage turned back into a pumpkin, and Ella's gown became rags once more. Ella found herself back in her humble abode, the echoes of the Halloween ball fading like distant thunder. Yet, she wasn't alone. The spirit of Halloween, in the form of a friendly ghost, appeared before her, thanking her for embracing the ancient traditions and letting the spirits of Halloween be a part of her magical night.
From then on, the village talked about the girl with the pumpkin carriage who had danced with the spirits on Halloween, becoming a cherished part of the Halloween lore, a legend passed down from generation to generation, filling young hearts with wonder and hope. A reminder of the magical connection between the living and the dearly departed on this bewitching night.
