- Held throughout December 2024 in Lorn, NSW

Fun Facts of our Christmas Light Carriage Rides

How Many Nights Did We Run?

This year, carriage rides ran for 5 enchanting evenings, each with approximately 9/10 groups each night throughout December 2024, bringing holiday joy to families, couples, and enthusiasts alike. Each night had its charm, whether a warm and balmy evening or one filled with light dusting rain, creating a picture-perfect scene.

How Far Did the Horses Travel?

Our stunning horses, Gus and Jess, are the absolute superstars of the show! Throughout the event, they pulled our carriage filled with guests approx. 80km, with our carriage weighing approx. 800kg empty, this is no small feat.

How do we move our Gear?

It took a well-coordinated team and some serious logistics to keep the magic going. Ensuring everything was in the right place at the right time was no small feat, but our team's dedication made it seamless. We usually use two cars and trailers (one with horses and harness and one with carriage). However, on our 1st night this year, someone borrowed our water buckets for the horses and never returned them whilst we were out giving guests rides, so 2nd night, we were up to three vehicles to transport all our necessary gear. This included a roughly put-together trailer with an IBC Unit and water trough, something a bit bigger for would-be borrowers, and ensured our horses could access water throughout the rides.

Behind the Scenes: The Real Magic Makers

The heart of the Christmas Lights Carriage Rides was, without a doubt, our majestic horses, Gus, Jess and Roselee Friesians, getting fit and healthy to go ahead with these carriage rides and keeping them healthy and sound to do back-to-back nights. Their elegance and calm demeanour made them perfect for the job, captivating everyone they met.

However, we did face a couple of challenges this year. Unfortunately, the Christmas light displays weren't as colourful as last year, and while we have no absolute control over this, we hope that the carriage decked out with lights made up for the lack of displays. We're proud that our carriage shone brightly, spreading festive cheer wherever it went. Another hiccup came with the camera not doing what it should on the evenings of the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Despite these challenges, we captured many wonderful moments throughout the season. All the photos can be viewed in these galleries

And the added logistics of the water trailer were due to the unexpected Christmas presents of buckets for someone needing buckets.

Highlights from the Rides

Throughout the evenings, we saw countless smiles & heard endless laughter. One of the most heartwarming moments was when a young child, seeing our Cinderella carriage for the first time, exclaimed, "It's just like in the fairy tales!" Moments like these reminded us why we do what we do – to create lasting memories filled with magic.
